ENDORSEMENT – HARRY OBERG
YAVAPAI COUNTY SUPERVISOR, DISTRICT 1

“I am pleased to endorse Harry Oberg for Yavapai County Supervisor, District 1. I have known Harry for over six years and have always been impressed by his honesty, fairness and dedication to his community. Throughout his tenure as Mayor of Prescott, Harry focused on issues of importance to his citizens. Important among his efforts were the preservation of our precious, local resources, seeking improvement of the Prescott airport with a new terminal and more convenient flights and helping to bring resolution to the State’s economic disaster of the public pension program.

As County Supervisor, Harry will bring this same commitment to issues currently facing the County: improving the County’s economic situation, conservation of the County’s natural resources, improvement of the County’s infrastructure – including traffic and transportation and preserving and promoting our County’s unique and rich western heritage.

I enthusiastically endorse Harry Oberg for County Supervisor, District 1.”

“As founding president of the Prescott Police Foundation and chairman of the Prescott Fire Department Appeals Board, I had the opportunity to witness the effective way Harry Oberg served Prescott as its mayor. He is the only candidate for Yavapai County Supervisor, District 1, who has been elected to public office. He served our country as a highly decorated military officer, directed a 1.5 billion-dollar Pentagon logistics budget, and has a proven record of accomplishments. He enhanced our community and its citizens by reducing the number of unlicensed sober living homes, attracted a new commercial passenger carrier and a new 15 million dollar Prescott Airport terminal, and initiated a 20-year airport master plan for economic expansion and safety. As a member of a three-generation ranching family who was schooled in Prescott, Harry Oberg knows our community, its needs, and priorities. He will make a great county supervisor who has earned our support!”

President, Prescott Police Foundation
Chairman, Prescott Fire Department Appeals Board

“It is my honor to endorse and support Harry Oberg in his bid for election to the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors. We worked together, while he was Prescott’s Mayor, on the top priority issue facing our Arizona cities and counties, the Public Safety Personnel Retirement Systems massive unfunded liability. Harry’s leadership, organizational skills and tenacity on behalf of Prescott and Yavapai County was an invaluable asset in dealing with our state government and executive. I am confident that these attributes will serve Yavapai County well as a County Supervisor.”

“Harry Oberg has my full support for Yavapai County Board of Supervisors. No other candidate in this race brings his knowledge, experience, or length of public service. Having served our country in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot, a colonel in the Army, and later as Prescott Mayor, Harry’s experience making critical decisions and working with budgets will benefit all of us in District One and Yavapai County. During these turbulent times, we need proven leaders. Harry has shown time and again he is such a man.”

State Representative Noel Campbell

ENDORSEMENT – HARRY OBERG
YAVAPAI COUNTY SUPERVISOR, DISTRICT 1

“It is my great honor to endorse Harry Oberg for the District 1 Supervisor in Yavapai County. I have personally worked with Harry in addressing the Arizona Public Safety Personnel Retirement System to provide sustainability, fiscal accountability and a conservative approach to the use of tax payer dollars. His statewide leadership gathered together many statewide and local government leaders to the table. In reflecting his personal character, Harry brought integrity and active participation from stakeholders by setting the tone of the discussions as urgent but collaborative. His strong leadership will serve and represent the people of Yavapai County well.”

“During my years serving President Reagan there was a simple phrase he used and lived by, ‘Life begins when you begin to serve.’ When I think of Harry Oberg, I am reminded of Ronald Reagan. Harry has not only served our nation honorably as U.S. Army veteran, and locally as Mayor of Prescott, but is now running to serve Yavapai County as District 1 Supervisor. I am supporting him not only because he possesses the fine leadership qualities that remind me of my former boss, but for his proven experience making important decisions on behalf of us all. Much like Reagan he lives to serve. Go Harry! Win One For The Gipper!”

YAVAPAI COUNTY SUPERVISOR, DISTRICT 1

“I was excited to learn that former Prescott Mayor, Harry Oberg, decided to return to a life of public service as a candidate for the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors, District 1.

This isn’t your ordinary citizen or political candidate, but a true hero in my mind. Colonel Oberg served 33 years with the US Army. Why is this man special to me and my family? He served two tours as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, my former home. Colonel Oberg was injured in a firefight in his first tour and was hospitalized for several months. That didn’t stop him from earning multiple combat decorations including 2-Distinguished Flying Crosses, 2-Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart, 34-Air Medals (one with Valor Device), and numerous Vietnam campaign and service awards. Combine his heroism, his commitment to public service, and his experience as Mayor of the City of Prescott, you simply cannot question his ability to get the job done.

My personal path to freedom could not have existed without Colonel Oberg and many Vietnam Veterans, therefore it my pleasure and honor to support and endorse his candidacy for Yavapai County Board of Supervisors, District 1.”

Quang H. Nguyen, Candidate
House of Representatives, Legislative District 1

“I confidently recommend Harry Oberg for the position of Yavapai County Board of Supervisor, District One. Beyond a doubt he is the most qualified.

It was my honor to gavel the opening of the first meeting of Mayor Harry Oberg’s Ad Hoc Committee on Sober Home Living, March 10th, 2016. I served as Chairman of the committee until the end of the Mayor’s term. The City of Prescott had a known 180 Sober Homes operating within the city limits. Citizens were frustrated. Families had safety concerns as these homes had no standards of operation.

After hours listening to testimony from the public, home operators, addiction specialists, probation and law enforcement and people in recovery, under Mayor Oberg’s leadership, Prescott City Council passed a City Ordinance requiring Sober Homes within Prescott’s city limits to meet a Standard of Care. Here are a few examples:

1- A 24 hour trained House Manager would be in charge at all times.
2- A business plan would be available during all safety code or fire inspections.
3- Narcan always available (for reversing opioid overdose).
4- Client Exit Plan. All too often we previously found clients removed from the home and living on the Plaza.

All of this was because of Harry Oberg’s leadership, working with the industry and our citizens. At the end of Mayor Oberg’s term, there were 28 licensed and inspected Sober Homes operating within the city limits of Prescott, and a much safer community.

I have witnessed Harry’s leadership, working with others for a better and safer community, and improving the lives of our residents. This is the kind of leadership we need at the County level. Therefore, I am proud to endorse Mayor Harry Oberg for Yavapai County Board of Supervisors, District 1.”

Glenn Martin, Chairman (2016-2018)
Ad Hoc Committee on Sober Home Living

“I am proud to endorse Harry Oberg for Yavapai County Supervisor. I know Harry to be a true defender of the Constitution and all of the rights protected by it. Yavapai County has a budget very similar in size to the City of Prescott’s but much more reliant on property tax revenue. Harry Oberg understands budgeting complexities and how to maintain critical services without having to increase taxes. While Harry was Mayor of Prescott, I have seen him cut waste and find efficiencies to protect the taxpayers and am confident that he’ll do the same for the people of District One during these critical economic times in Yavapai County’s future. He has demonstrated his commitment to fight for the taxpayer and the interests of rural Arizona.”

“I fully endorse Harry Oberg for Yavapai County Supervisor, District 1. I met Harry, 5 years ago, when I returned to my home state and relocated to Prescott from Austin, TX. I truly wanted to give back to the community and from my first meeting with Harry, he not only inspired me to open businesses in Prescott, he was instrumental in supporting my business and assisted in so many critical milestones along the way. His vision for preserving the history and charm of Prescott, is only matched by his passion for supporting the economic growth of the area, while keeping true to Prescott culture. He had the vision to support the Prescott Downtown Entertainment District, which has supported the arts, music, and revived downtown.
In my 22 years in Technology and leading sales at several mutli-billion dollar global businesses, Harry’s integrity and intelligence has truly differentiated him as one of the best leaders I’ve ever met. His drive and energy are contagious, as is his poise, patience, and diligence.”

ENDORSEMENT – HARRY OBERG
YAVAPAI COUNTY SUPERVISOR, DISTRICT 1

“I heartily endorse Harry Oberg for Yavapai County Supervisor. I fully support Harry’s Platform – driving economic recovery & development, being proactive on county-wide transportation infrastructure, while actively conserving & managing our natural resources. I appreciate his position on the New Jail, especially until we exhaust other lower cost options and consider less destructive locations. Harry recognizes taxpayers have been hurt due to COVID, unlike other candidates who support dramatically adding to our taxpayer debt. I am particularly impressed with the range of dialogue, research and considerations Harry evaluates to develop positions and plans. I believe his platform will preserve & enhance our quality of life.

I value elected representatives whose “interests” are the public and taxpayers, and who are NOT beholden to big donors, power brokers nor their own personal interests. We need leaders who will conduct transparent multifactor evaluations on the critical issues. I want County Leaders who can LEAD – who collaborate and listen broadly, and who then articulate a compelling call to action. Given his personal & professional background and my interactions, I believe no other BOS1 candidate is more qualified or capable. Harry is the PROVEN LEADER we need now!”
