5/25 – Memorial Day Message from Harry Oberg

It just doesn’t feel right, does it….no traditional Memorial Day ceremonies at the Prescott National Cemetery or the Prescott Citizens’ Cemetery. No formal speeches by our city, county and state leaders to honor and pay tribute to our fallen comrades in arms. No commemoration of their selfless service, and for many, their ultimate sacrifice for their country and countrymen. No it just doesn’t feel like the right thing to do…. to let Memorial Day 2020 go by without making an individual effort to recognize our fallen servicemen and women. So let’s not allow that to happen. Even though the formal ceremonies will not be taking place because of the Wuhan virus pandemic, we can gather together in small groups to pay our respects. I will be at the Prescott National Cemetery at 11:00am on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th. I hope you will join me there to bow our heads in prayer and give thanks to our Almighty God for the lives of these courageous men and women whose faithful service to our nation is now eternal.
